The Fall 2006
We are in Los Angeles in the 1920s. 10-year-old Alexandria, who is in the Los Angeles hospital because of a broken arm, meets Roy, a stuntman. Injured in a conflict, Roy, who cannot get out of bed, starts telling a story about six men who hate Governor Odius for various reasons and want to kill him. However, Roy, due to his problems, makes the historical story increasingly pessimistic. After a while, Roy, who mixes fairy tale with reality, will start using Alexandria to get rid of his own pains. The film, shown as part of ‘If Istanbul Exists’, won an award at the Berlin Film Festival. The Fall, shot in 18 different countries in 26 different real locations by Tarsem Singh, did not use special effects. The film, which took 4 years for filming and post-production, only reached the big screen in 2008 due to the director’s meticulousness.
