The First Wives Club 1996
Three women, Elise, Brenda, and Annie, who were all close friends in college, reunite at the funeral of their fourth friend. They discover that they have all been betrayed by their husbands for younger women. Instead of falling into depression, they decide to seek revenge. Inspired by Olivia Goldsmith’s novel, the film follows their journey of empowerment as they transform from insecure and passive individuals to fierce warriors. Goldsmith’s ironic death during a cosmetic surgery procedure adds a tragic touch to the story.
