The Fly II 1989
While inventing a teleportation machine, Seth Brundle is turned into a fly and ultimately killed by his love, Veronica. The company he works for allows Veronica to die in order to give birth to the unfortunate man’s child. A boy named Martin begins to mature in the laboratory. The company’s owner, Bartok, chooses to wait and observe Martin until the mutant chromosomes become active, rather than treating him to further enhance Brundle’s invention. Martin will soon become superhuman; when he realizes the events unfolding, he will seek a way to heal himself and break free from captivity with the help of his girlfriend, Beth. David Cronenberg continues The Fly with a remake, picking up where it left off. However, in less skilled hands, the film may not be as satisfying. Nevertheless, it manages to keep its place in the minds of those who like the concept and are curious about how far this gruesome horror theme will go.
