The Four Feathers 2002
Based on Mason’s classic AEW novel, Four Feathers takes us back to the second half of the 19th century, when the colonial race among European states was intensifying. British officer Harry Feversham, loved by his friends, family, and superiors, and assured of a bright future, is enjoying a pleasant life with his beautiful girlfriend Ethne as they prepare for their wedding. After Islamic forces rebel against British colonial troops in the Sudan region, Harry is sent to North Africa with his regiment to quell the uprisings. However, feeling uncertain about himself and what he wants to do, Harry resigns from the army and returns home. Accused of cowardice by his father and everyone he knows and loves, Harry receives a feather symbolizing cowardice from Ethne and his three beloved friends. When he learns that his best friend Jack has been captured by his former unit, Harry, drifting into loneliness every day, seizes the chance to return to Africa, now determined of his purpose and whom he is doing it for.
