The Guardian 2006
The plot of the movie The Guardian (2006) revolves around legendary Coast Guard rescue swimmer Ben Randall, who starts teaching at the elite training program ‘A’ School for Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers after losing his crew in a deadly accident. Struggling with the loss of his crew, Randall throws himself into training and disrupts the program with unconventional methods. During his time there, he meets Jake Fischer, a young and timid swimming champion trying to be the best. Randall shapes Jake’s character during training, combining his raw talent with the heart and dedication required for being a rescuer. After graduating, Jake follows Randall to Kodiak, where he faces the natural dangers of the Bering Sea. In his first rescue experience, Jake learns firsthand the true meaning of heroism and sacrifice. The Guardian, directed by Andrew Davis, was released in 2006 and has won an award.
