A strong cigarette company’s board of directors fires and silences their research head Jeffrey Wiegand when they realize he doesn’t agree with the company’s practices. Despite warnings of consequences for speaking out, Jeffrey refuses to stay silent and faces threats to his family. Investigative journalist Lowell Bergman wants to invite Jeffrey to his show on American TV network CBS. However, the interests of the capitalist system and the media world will collide, leading to unexpected consequences.
