The Jacket 2005
Jack Starks, a former soldier who survived the Gulf War with a serious head injury, suffers from permanent memory problems. Without any relatives to help him, Jack decides to return to his hometown in Vermont. While hitchhiking, he helps a drunk woman with a broken-down car, who has an 8-year-old daughter. They are picked up by a man heading to the Canadian border, where they are met by police at a checkpoint. These are the last images in Jack’s fragmented memory. When he wakes up, he realizes he is being held in a psychiatric hospital and accused of killing a police officer. With no memory of the incident, Jack is given experimental drugs that only make matters worse. Becker’s patient, the man who oscillates between dreams and reality, remembers meeting a girl named Jackie and even spending the night at her house. Will this young woman’s fate be in his hands, or will she die within four days as in a dream?
