Simon Bolivar, a hero who fought in nearly 100 battles against the Spanish Empire in South America, covered thousands of kilometers on horseback. He commanded an army twice the size of Alexander the Great’s and never invaded the lands he fought for. Instead, he liberated the people living in the conquered territories.
