The Little Princess 1939
Shirley is a film adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic children’s novel. When her officer father is sent on a mission overseas by Queen Victoria, Shirley becomes a boarding student at a strict school in London. When news arrives that her father has gone missing and is believed to be dead, Shirley is left bankrupt and forced to work as a maid to sleep and wake up at the school. A young girl who refuses to believe her father is dead sets out on a journey to find him in hospitals.
