The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power 2022 series is an adaptation by Amazon Studios of J.R.R. Tolkien’s work. It takes place thousands of years before the events in The Lord of the Rings book, during the Second Age of Middle-earth. The series tells the story of the beginnings and endings of kingdoms, unexpected heroes, hopes hanging in the balance, and a marvelous tale never before told. Even though this dramatic adventure unfolds long before the time of The Hobbit, it still weaves a captivating story. While Middle-earth is mostly at peace, a looming evil threatens to plunge the world into darkness. Both familiar and new characters will be faced with the resurgence of this long-feared evil. The story unfolds in both new and old locations, such as the beautiful elf capital of Lindon or the dark depths of the Misty Mountains. Characters and kingdoms in Middle-earth will forge their own legends, with their stories continuing to be told for years to come.
