The Master 2012
Former naval officer Freddie Sutton is a war hero of the overwhelming World War II. After serving on the front lines of the Great Patriotic War, he returns to his country. Not sure what to do next or how to organize his life, he is on the verge of falling into a void when he meets the charismatic leader of the Dava sect, Lancaster Dodd. Soon, Sutton becomes Dodd’s right-hand man, despite not fully understanding what he has gotten himself into. In the 1950s, the film focuses on the spread of the Delo sect’s religious activities, becoming increasingly popular across America. Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix star in this Paul Thomas Anderson film, which received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture.
