Joan of Arc (Milla Jovovich) was born in 1412 in the ordinary village of Domremy in France to a poor farming family. During the ongoing “Hundred Years’ War,” France was being invaded by the English. At the same time, the countries were eating each other from within and being dragged into civil war. In these dark times, only one thing could save France; a miracle! 13-year-old Zhanna spent her days praying and claimed to receive divine insights frequently. From the beginning, she was told what Jeanne’s purpose was: to save France and help Prince Charles (John Malkovich) become the King of France.
