Gregory Larkin, a math professor who constantly fails in relationships based solely on sexual passion, places an ad in the newspaper’s Lonely Hearts section stating that he is looking for a soul rather than sexuality. Claire responds to the ad on behalf of her sister Rose, a literature teacher. Rose and Gregory meet and agree to a marriage contract where mental passion will take precedence over sexual passion. However, things do not go as planned.
