Sheriff Howard Cap is on the hunt for a notorious killer. Wherever he goes, other bounty hunters follow, all vying to capture this high-priced target. After a long and grueling pursuit, the sheriff finally apprehends the killer. But their journey is far from over, with more people joining the chase for the bounty. Starring James Stewart in one of his darkest and finest roles, this film is best known as a western by Anthony Mann and James Stewart. With only five characters, each one is fully developed and devoid of clichés. Robert Ryan’s portrayal of the fugitive killer is outstanding.
