La princesse de Montpensier 2010
In 16th century France, the religious wars between Catholics and Protestants continue. Young and beautiful aristocrat Marie and war hero Henri are in love, but Marie’s father, Prince Montpensier, has promised to marry his daughter to him. Shortly after their marriage, the prince is ordered to join the war. The prince sends his wife Marie to the secluded Champigny castle to live with her former teacher Chabanne and begs her to complete her education. In her unhappy, lonely life at Champigny, Marie tries to forget Henri. When the fate of the war changes, Henri and the heir to the French throne, Duke of Anjou, visit Champigny Castle. Just before them, Prince Montpensier arrives at the castle to stay with Marie. In the midst of this difficult situation, the Duke of Anjou falls in love with the princess and Chabanne cannot resist the young woman’s charm.
