The Railway Man 2013
During World War II, a railway line was being built in Burma by Japanese forces, using prisoners of war as labor. The inhumane treatment of the prisoners leads to deaths and those who survive struggle to cope with hunger and exhaustion. Eric Lomax, one of the prisoners, refuses to work on the “death railway” until he is persuaded by a Japanese soldier named Nagase, who had tortured him. Years later, Eric is still haunted by his past and when he learns that Nagase is still alive, he seeks revenge.
