The Reader 2008

Starring Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes, and Bruno Ganz, the film was made with a moderate budget of 32 million dollars and grossed around 108 million dollars worldwide. Kate Winslet won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film.
Set after World War II, the story follows a young man named Michael who falls in love with Hanna, a woman twice his age, and they have a secret relationship until Hanna mysteriously disappears. Eight years later, Michael, now a respected observer at a war crimes trial, comes face to face with Hanna in court, where their past is revealed. Michael will uncover a secret that will completely change their lives.
