The Remains of the Day 1993
James Stevens (Anthony Hopkins) is the head butler at Darlington Hall in pre-World War II England, known for his extreme dedication to the rules and strict discipline towards the staff working under him. His life is devoted to serving his employer, Lord Darlington (James Fox).
The status quo is disrupted with the arrival of housekeeper Miss Kenton (Emma Thompson) at the mansion. Kenton is a compassionate and sensitive woman. Despite feeling warm sentiments towards Miss Kenton, Stevens is too proud to openly express his feelings.
