The Right Stuff is a film based on the novel of the same name by Tom Wolfe, depicting the epic and magnificent dreams of American sky domination and space travel. The story follows seven brave astronauts and a daring test pilot as they embark on colorful adventures. The movie, which won four Oscars, chronicles the lives of the first Mercury astronauts – Shepard, Grissom, Glenn, Carpenter, Schirra, Cooper, and Slayton – who were the first Americans to travel to new horizons in a primitive spacecraft.
