Japanese photojournalist Fukamachi stumbles upon a camera that may belong to the famous climber Mallory, who disappeared in 1924. Before he can check if the film is still inside, a stranger takes the camera. Upon returning to Tokyo, Fukamachi learns the identity of the mysterious man.
