Storyline

The Thing 2011

Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) travels to an isolated region of Antarctica to conduct the most important research of her life. Joining a team of Norwegian scientists, Kate discovers an organism that has been lying beneath the ice for billions of years. But the time has come for the creature to awaken. During a simple experiment, the creature breaks free from the ice and begins to wreak havoc on the team. As Dr. Sander Halvorson continues his investigation, Kate teams up with helicopter pilot Carter (Joel Edgerton) to stop the creature from killing everyone. In this barren and desolate land, an alien creature that can mimic anything it touches will turn humans against each other… Directed by Dutch filmmaker Matthijs van Heyningen Jr., “The Thing” brings John Carpenter’s classic 1982 story to the big screen with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton in the lead roles.
