In the movie, a lawyer named Kate McCall, who seeks refuge in alcohol due to a psychological disorder from a past case, divorces her husband and fights for custody of her 5-year-old daughter. She also takes on an important murder case by taking in wrongly convicted Lacey. Despite all the evidence and investigations at the crime scene proving the woman’s innocence, Kate McCall hits a wall of judgment. No one believes in Lacey’s innocence except herself. Determined to break down prejudices with strong defenses, McCall will do whatever it takes for the justice system to function properly. You have two paths ahead of you; either try to win this case to climb the career ladder or spend more time with your daughter to get custody.
