They say money rules the world. But before money, they discovered sex. In Los Angeles, 1948, private detective Jake Gitts accuses his client’s wife of adultery. Meanwhile, the client, Jake Berman, kills his wife’s lover. When it is revealed that the dead man was Berman’s business partner, and the existence of a certain inheritance comes to light, the situation becomes even more suspicious. However, as Detective Gittes investigates the case, he realizes that things are getting more complicated and that these events are connected to a past incident.
