The War Lord 1965
Crisagon de la Crue, a Norman knight in the service of the Duke, returns to a Druid coastal village where he previously failed to build a defense fortress. He tries to regain the Duke’s power against the barbarians at the border and falls in love with Bronwyn, one of the women he saves. Bronwyn’s father, the village elder Odins, asks for Crisagon’s permission to marry his daughter to Mark, a baby in a cradle. Crisagon approves the marriage, but soon regrets his decision as he wants to marry Bronwyn himself. Meanwhile, a war is about to begin on the Normandy shores.
