The story takes place in the 1990s and is one of the best movie adaptations of a novel. The film follows a man named Daniel Plainview who searches for oil in remote areas and manages his own company. A man driven by ambition, he constantly seeks to acquire more and his only companion in life is his young son. After obtaining permission from the locals to continue his oil exploration in the region, he will soon see where ambition can lead a person.
