Tootsie 1982
Michael Dorsey is an unemployed actor in New York. He struggles to get the roles he wants, always being told he’s not good enough or they have someone else in mind. One day, he auditions for a soap opera with his friend Sandy and ends up getting the role – as a woman named Dorothy Michaels. Michael takes on this new persona to make money for a theater production with his friend Jeff. As Dorothy, he meets Julie, one of his co-stars, and falls in love with her, complicating his double life.
