Warm Bodies 2013
A zombie (Nicholas Hoult) who is in pain undergoes a deep transformation after an unusual relationship with a girl (Teresa Palmer) who is a soldier tasked with killing the walking dead. There is a weak communication bridge between the living and the dead, and both sides realize that the world will never be the same. Warm Bodies is a story adapted from a novel by Isaac Marion, starring Rob Corddry and John Malkovich. Zombies love eating people, especially their brains. However, R (Nicholas Hoult) is different from other zombies. While other grunting, drooling zombies are sent to the city to hunt for survivors in a pandemic-ravaged world, R is living. Zombies now roam the airport, looking for people and living in fear of the dangerous Bonies who are the next step. One day, R and his closest friend M go to town to look for food. There, R sees Julie (Teresa Palmer), a beautiful girl. Deciding to save Julie from the other zombies and then from the Bonies, R hides her in his home, a wrecked Boeing 747. Julie is scared. R’s confident grunts calm her a bit. But when R starts to protect Julie by refusing to eat human flesh and acting more like a human than a zombie, Julie realizes that R is special. After a few incidents with the Bonies and learning that her father is searching for her, Julie realizes she can’t hide forever. Wanting to see Julie again, R combs his hair, tries to fix himself up, and acts like a normal human until he can prove to the humans that zombies can change. But when the angry Bonies attack the city and Julie’s father wants to kill R and his friends, everything changes and a war breaks out between the living and the dead. This is a unique love and transformation story, telling the tale of a young man who falls madly in love with a girl.
