The film is set in 1936 in Spain and tells the story of writer Miguel de Unamuno who supports the army uprising. As General Franco gains power, the Spanish Civil War becomes even more bloody and ruthless. Unamuno, who was the rector of the University of Salamanca at the time, will have to confront his inner world with all the events that have taken place, as he once supported the war.
