Windtalkers 2002
During World War II, the Japanese managed to break all the codes developed by Americans, cutting off their communication. In response, the American army recruited hundreds of Navajo Native Americans and developed a new code in their language that was extremely difficult to crack. These Native Americans were involved in frontline communication, helping to speed up the American army’s response. The only way the Japanese could break this code was to capture a Navajo Native American alive, even if they were able to speak the code. To prevent this, the Navy assigned an officer to protect each Navajo Native American. Their duty was to protect the Navajos in battle, but when faced with the risk of the code falling into enemy hands, they had to protect the code by eliminating the Navajos before they could be captured by the enemy.
