In this world, we are prone to forget that we are drifting. A possible love and belonging future story. Rebecca and Tommy fall in love at the age of 9. They begin to spend all their time together in the seaside town where they live. Until Rebecca’s family decides to move to Japan. Twelve years later, Rebecca returns to the city to find Tommy, and the two lovers quickly bond. They were born to love each other. However, when Tommy dies in a car accident, Rebecca doesn’t know how to continue her life. This is a time when human cloning is legal, even if not approved by society. Upon her parents’ objections, Rebecca decides to give birth to a clone of Tommy. Womb is the story of the next 20 years. The film is less experimental than Benedek Flihauf’s previous works. However, telling a possible future about love and belonging in this film is still not easy. The captivating beauty of Womb can be both intriguing and unsettling beneath its calm surface. When it ends, the audience is left with many questions about the ethics of life.
